Burke G. Lopez has joined the firm’s
Tampa office as a partner. Mr. Lopez’ addition bolsters the firm’s ability to handle the diverse civil litigation needs of its clients in central and western Florida.
Mr. Lopez handles a diverse case load involving coverage issues, commercial disputes, personal injury, products liability, premises liability and wrongful death litigation. He has been lead counsel in numerous jury trials and since 2003 has been board-certified by The Florida Bar as a civil trial lawyer. For 10 years, Mr. Lopez has also been a certified Florida Circuit Court mediator.
Mr. Lopez’ clients have included Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc., Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc., Auto Owners Insurance Company, Sedgwick Claims Services, Yellow Cab of Tampa and Dominion of Canada Insurance.
Before joining Hinshaw, Mr. Lopez was for 10 years a senior associate at the Florida law firm of Rywant, Alvarez, Jones, Russo & Guyton, P.A. He also practiced law with Langford, Mooney & McDuffee, P.A. and Lopez & Kelly, P.A.
Mr. Lopez earned his J.D. in 1990 from the University of Florida College of Law. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida at Gainesville in 1987.
