Joshua Vincent and Jill Eckhaus to Present and Moderate at the Illinois Defense Counsel's Developments Critical to Medical Malpractice Litigation – Hybrid Seminar
Joshua Vincent and Jill Eckhaus will participate as faculty in the Illinois Defense Counsel's (IDC) Developments Critical to Medical Malpractice Litigation Hybrid Seminar on August 15, 2024. Vincent will present "The 'Secret Agent' – Updates on Apparent Agency Jurisprudence." His presentation will cover the general law of apparent agency in Illinois with a special discussion of Solorzano v. Magnani, Brayboy v. Advocate, and Conrads v. Rush-Copley. Eckhaus will moderate a panel titled "Jury Questions: Rule 243, Questions from the Jury, and Special Interrogatories." The discussion will cover a decade of jury questions allowed by Supreme Court Rule 243 and recent developments in jury questions in cases like Devany v. Lincoln Park, Galich v. Advocate, and Edson v. Horwich. Her panel will also explore the continued use of special interrogatories following the amendment to 735 ILCS 5/2-1108 and Ris v. Advocate.
