Hinshaw's Russell Klingaman Elected as President of Lawyer Pilots Bar Association
Chicago, Illinois – The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Milwaukee partner Russ Klingaman was elected as president of the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association (LPBA) effective as of July 26, 2014.
Mr. Klingaman will carry out the LPBA's dedication to aviation safety, continuing legal education and the just administration of the law. As LPBA's president for the next 12 months, Mr. Klingaman will monitor the progress of all committees and supervise the business and affairs of the organization. Mr. Klingaman has previously served as the LPBA's secretary and as a member of the Board of Directors.
A licensed pilot and aircraft owner, Mr. Klingaman focuses a significant portion of his practice on aviation law. He also has in-depth experience in the areas of business litigation, insurance coverage, intellectual property and products liability. Mr. Klingaman is an accomplished trial lawyer and he has made oral arguments to the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Ninth Circuits, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Klingaman is an adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School since 2007, where he teaches aviation law. Recently, he taught an undergraduate aviation law class at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Mr. Klingaman is a member of the Aviation Committee of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. He is also affiliated with the Aviation Insurance Association, National Business Aviation Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Experimental Aircraft Association, Helicopter Association International and International Aviation and Transportation Safety Bar Association. Mr. Klingaman earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School while concurrently earning his master's degree in Public Policy and Administration (1991). He earned his B.S. from The University of Iowa (1980).
The Lawyer Pilots Bar Association was formed in 1959. It is a unique international professional group of lawyers, pilots, and other members of the aviation community. The LPBA is dedicated to promoting aviation safety, continuing legal education, and fellowship among all persons interested in aviation including governmental officials, businesses and individuals.
