Hinshaw Partner Andrew Gordon Receives 2018 Daily Business Review "On the Rise" Professional Excellence Award
The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Andrew M. Gordon has received a Daily Business Review 2018 Professional Excellence Award in the "On the Rise" category. Gordon was one of 25 attorneys honored in the category. The award recognizes attorneys under 40 who "wield influence and show expertise" in their respective practice areas, while committing themselves to pro bono service, as well as charitable and professional volunteer work. He was honored at an awards ceremony in Miami on May 30, 2018.
Gordon is a litigator and a member of Hinshaw's Labor & Employment practice group. He focuses his practice on the representation of management-side labor and employment matters such as defending employers against state and federal discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour, and retaliation claims, as well as FLSA collective actions, DOL compliance audits, whistleblower claims, and litigating non-compete/trade secret issues. He also has extensive business litigation experience, including contract disputes, business disputes, real estate litigation, banking litigation, commercial landlord/tenant disputes, and class action litigation. He is a Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Star" (2013 – present) and a 2016 Florida Legal Elite "Up & Comer" by Florida Trend Magazine. Gordon holds a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University in Miami.
Active in the community, Gordon is a member of the: City of Ft. Lauderdale's Board of Adjustment and Civil Service Board; a former member of Governmental Affairs Committee and Business First Committee of the Greater Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce; a member of the Advisory Board and Master Plan and Projects Committee of Riverwalk Ft. Lauderdale; a Victoria Park Civic Association member, President, former Vice President, and former Representative to the Council of Ft. Lauderdale Civic Association; and a former member of the Board of Directors (2013 – 2015) of the Victoria Park Place Homeowners Association.
