Hinshaw Welcomes Former Assistant U.S. Attorney and Well-Respected South Florida Legal Analyst David Weinstein to its Miami Office
National law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP today announced that David S. Weinstein has joined as a partner in the Miami office. Weinstein is a member of the firm's Government Practice Group, and focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, government investigations, corporate compliance, anti-money laundering initiatives and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues.
For the majority of his legal career, Weinstein served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida as well as an Assistant State Attorney for the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office. As Assistant U.S. Attorney, he served as Deputy Chief in the Major Crimes and Narcotics Sections and Chief of the Narcotics Section, as well as the Chief of the Public Integrity, National Security and Criminal Civil Rights Section. While with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office, Weinstein was Chief of the Narcotics Section, the Robbery and Career Criminal Section and Deputy Chief of the Felony Division.
In addition to his law practice, Weinstein is also a well-respected South Florida legal media personality, with appearances as a legal analyst on Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, CTV and BBC World News, among other TV and print outlets. He also hosts a weekly sports talk radio podcast.

Weinstein is a graduate of the University of Miami Law School (J.D.) and the State University of New York at Binghamton (B.A). He is admitted to practice in Florida, along with U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. He currently serves as the President-Elect and Executive Board Member for the South Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is also a member of the DRI Government Enforcement and Corporate Compliance Committee and has been appointed to serve as the committee's Vice-Chair, effective October 8, 2017.
