Hinshaw Attorneys Present at 2018 LeadingAge Illinois Annual Meeting and Expo
A group of Hinshaw partners—Aimee Delaney, David Alfini, Adam Guetzow and Ken Yeadon—recently presented at the 2018 LeadingAge Illinois Annual Meeting and Expo at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois. The seminar was geared toward helping those in the adult life services industry connect, recharge, re-energize their passion for the industry and focus on the future of care.
Alfini, Guetzow and Yeadon presented a program titled "Shifting Gears—How Home and Community Based Programs and Their Allies are becoming the New Legal Target in the Aging Services Industry." The program discussed recent regulatory changes impacting the industry and provided best practices for maintaining a compliant homecare agency.
Later that day, Delaney, Alfini and Guetzow presented "Long-Term Care Employee Turnover: Strategies for Mitigating Legal Risk." This session provided a tutorial on employee training and separation strategies.
Delaney also spoke about best practices for updating employee handbooks and procedures and how to address the legal risks of wage and hour claims in the homecare setting in a presentation titled, "Navigating the Homecare Labor Force."
