Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP Earns 100% Rating on Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is proud to announce that the firm has earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's 2015 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), designating it as a "Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality." This is the sixth consecutive year Hinshaw has earned this esteemed accolade.
"Receiving this honor year after year is a testament to Hinshaw's strong and active LGBT community and our commitment to support and encourage a diverse workplace," said Leslie Richards-Yellen, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and partner at Hinshaw. "The firm has worked hard to develop and implement best practices for fostering an inclusive and LGBT-friendly environment, and I am thrilled that Hinshaw continues to be recognized for its initiatives and accomplishments in this area." |
David Alfini, litigation partner at Hinshaw and member of the Hinshaw LGBT Affinity Network added, "As a firm, diversity and inclusion are top priorities and our consecutive 100% rating by the HRC speaks loudly to our firm culture and value system. We are proud of this recognition, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen and expand our commitment to diversity."
The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Hinshaw joins the ranks of 366 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year. The policies measured in the CEI include domestic partner benefits, non-discrimination workplace protections, and public engagement with the LGBT community, among others.
The 2015 CEI rated a total of 971 businesses in the report. In order to earn a perfect score and the prestigious distinction of being named a "Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality," companies must meet all of the CEI's criteria. The Human Rights Campaign is the nation's largest civil rights organization that works to end discrimination against all LGBT citizens.
