Tom Berg Featured in Star Tribune Article Highlighting the Work of Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center
Hinshaw attorney Tom Berg was featured in a Star Tribune article titled "Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center Builds on a Dream of Lake Superior." The article highlights the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and its mission to get K-12 students "up close to nature." Wolf Ridge trustee emeritus Berg, along with the late Rolfe Worden, played a pivotal role in securing what he describes as a "very generous" arrangement, giving Wolf Ridge two long-term leases—including one for 99 years—on 68 acres of land on Lake Superior in Minnesota.
Since 1971, the organization's 2,000 acre campus in Finland, Minnesota has overlooked Lake Superior, but the lake was "not something they could get down to and stick their hands in." With this new arrangement in place, Wolf Ridge is now developing a new course to offer on the importance of clean water. "This lake piece is just such a crowning jewel for us," Berg said.
