Craig Liljestrand's CDLB Column: Fourth District Appellate Court Reverses Judgment in Mesothelioma Exposure Case

October 26, 2018

Hinshaw partner Craig Liljestrand has published his latest Chicago Daily Law Bulletin column. Titled "Asbestos claim going back to 1960s fails on causation, duty to warn," the article analyzes a welding rod occupational mesothelioma exposure case, McKinney vs. Hobart Brothers Co., Nos. 4-17-0333 (4th Dist. 2018), where the Illinois Appellate Court recently reversed a trial court's judgment in favor of the plaintiff.

Liljestrand explains the appellate court's findings on the question of duty and causation, which ultimately resulted in their decision to hold that the defendant was entitled to a judgment notwithstanding the verdict.
