Hinshaw Announces Strategic Alliance with UK-based Reynolds Porter Chamberlain
New Transatlantic Alliance Brings Together Leaders in Representation of Insurers
The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic alliance with the law firm of Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP (RPC), creating a cross-border legal platform for insurers. Headquartered in London, RPC has more than 350 lawyers with offices in London, Hong Kong, Bristol, and Singapore. Hinshaw has nearly 450 lawyers in 20 U.S. offices, including Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and Boston.
Hinshaw and RPC are recognized leaders in the insurance sector, and this new alliance will see the two firms build on their current relationship by collaborating more closely across various lines of business, including D&O, complex coverage, professional indemnity, medical, and marine.
"As one of the leading law firms representing insurers in the United States, we never lose focus of the needs of our clients—and this alliance is the next step in our commitment to creating solutions clients increasingly need to take advantage of emerging opportunities and to tackle the challenges confronting the insurance industry," said Scott Seaman co-chair of Hinshaw's Insurance Services Practice Group.
Hinshaw and RPC have worked on client matters together, as well as on creating resources for insurers. For example, Hinshaw has contributed to RPC's Annual International Insurance Review and RPC is contributing to Hinshaw's "Insurance Law Radio," to be broadcast next month and available across the globe.
"We expect our alliance with RPC will produce industry-wide assets and client-centric solutions required in the fast-paced and highly competitive global reinsurance market," Seaman said. "Clients now have ready access to some of the world's top legal minds and talent on both sides of the Atlantic with a history of working seamlessly together."
Global head of insurance at RPC, Simon Laird, added: "Our insurer clients face increasingly global challenges. As far as legal services go, we believe in working with the best local firm for the job. But the US is different because it is such a large and mature insurance market. By joining up with Hinshaw, we can develop targeted products, solutions and learnings which can benefit our clients across both the UK and US. We look forward to building on this development throughout 2019 in line with our core RPC values."
