The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Alexandria "Lexy" Ray has joined the firm as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead. Located in Hinshaw's San Francisco Office, Lexy will partner with both staff and attorneys to translate the firm's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion into tangible and real-world results.
Lexy's background includes working in non-profits, banking, for-profit education, and FinTech. She has served as a DEI thought leader for companies in the United States and globally, building out programs to support women in leadership and spearheading diverse employee retention efforts.
"I'm very excited to welcome Lexy to Hinshaw, said D.L. Morriss, who serves as the firm's DEI partner. "She's a hugely experienced DEI professional, with an established track record of proactively advancing diversity strategies internally and externally. I look forward to partnering with her, as we capitalize on the national momentum for diversity, equity and inclusion by creating and implementing efforts that establish Hinshaw as a firm that leads by example in this area."
At Hinshaw, Lexy will focus on developing and implementing DEI initiatives firmwide and building on those already in place. She will also play a central role in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of diverse attorneys.
"I'm ready to go to work, said Lexy Ray. "Hinshaw has enormous human potential and a long-standing commitment to support equity and inclusion. Like my kids love to say, let's do this!"
A mom to two boys, aged 16 and 14, Lexy is also an active member of her community. Her civic activities include serving as a mentor with the Oakland Elizabeth House, which is a residential transitional program for women with children who have experienced homelessness, violence, addiction, and poverty. Lexy is a graduate of the University of Phoenix (B.S.) and is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management.
