Jenelle E. La Chuisa Selected as Recipient of The Florida Bar's 2025 President's Pro Bono Service Award in the 17th Judicial Circuit
The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that The Florida Bar has selected Fort Lauderdale litigation partner Jenelle E. La Chuisa as the recipient of the 2025 President's Pro Bono Service Award in the 17th Judicial Circuit (Broward County).
"We greatly appreciate The Florida Bar's recognition of Jenelle La Chuisa and her efforts leading and inspiring our team of dedicated Fort Lauderdale attorneys and their record of pro bono service," said Andrew Gordon, partner-in-charge of Hinshaw's Fort Lauderdale office. "We are very proud of Ms. La Chuisa and the difference she continues to make in the local community as a dedicated champion for those in need."
La Chuisa is a litigator and arbitrator representing individuals and companies in international and domestic business and insurance coverage disputes arising out of property, casualty, professional liability, aviation, marine, and builders' risk policies.
La Chuisa co-chairs Hinshaw's Pro Bono and Community Involvement Committee in Fort Lauderdale, where she facilitates volunteer opportunities for pro bono projects and community events along with committee co-chair and partner John Weedon. In September of 2024, La Chuisa received the 2024 Russell E. Carlisle Advocacy Award from Legal Aid of Broward County which is given annually to an advocate whose actions exemplify a personal and professional commitment to making justice available to the poor and disadvantaged. La Chuisa was specifically recognized for her participation in and leadership of 17 Hinshaw Fort Lauderdale attorneys who volunteered for a total of 178 hours in 2024 and 2023 for the Broward Lawyers Care Legal Aid Hotline and the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition.
In addition, Hinshaw's Fort Lauderdale office was named the 2024 Legal Aid of Broward County Law Firm of the Year which is presented annually to a firm that has shown its overall commitment to the organization's work and the clients it serves.

Each year, The Florida Bar and the Florida Supreme Court honor and recognize lawyers, groups, and members of the judiciary who have freely given their time and expertise in ensuring access to justice for those who otherwise could not afford it. The 2025 Pro Bono Awards will be presented on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at the Florida Supreme Court in Tallahassee. The ceremony will be livestreamed on The Florida Channel. La Chuisa and Hinshaw attorneys volunteered for the Broward Lawyers Care Legal Aid Hotline, answering questions about family law, consumer law, real property law, bankruptcy, housing, and tax/IRS controversies. Further, Hinshaw attorneys also donated time assisting returning citizens in restoring their right to vote through the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, which is committed to ending the disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions.
