Experienced Litigator Michele Hale DeShazo Joins Hinshaw in New Orleans
The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Michele Hale DeShazo has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the New Orleans office. Formerly with Kuchler Polk Weiner, DeShazo brings extensive litigation experience and deep knowledge of Louisiana regulatory law to the firm.
DeShazo has nearly two decades of experience managing high-profile litigation for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 corporate clients in the areas of oil and gas, commercial litigation, and toxic tort litigation.
Her addition bolsters the firm’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) team and also adds bench strength to the firm’s energy, government, and commercial litigation practices in Louisiana.
“Michele’s litigation experience and her in-depth familiarity with Louisiana regulatory law make her an excellent resource for our clients in addressing their ESG, energy, and tort litigation issues, said Lauren Campisi, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Louisiana offices. “We are delighted to welcome her to the firm.”
Before joining Hinshaw, DeShazo was a founding employee at Kuchler Polk Weiner, one of the largest female-owned law firms in the southern United States, where she became the only new equity partner and owner elected in that firm's history.
DeShazo is a member and former President of the South Louisiana Chapter of the Women's Energy Network. She has also served in several leadership roles at The Defense Research Institute (DRI) and is the former Chair of the Environmental and Toxic Torts Committee of the New Orleans Bar Association. She received her B.S. from Florida State University and her J.D. from Louisiana State University.
