Hinshaw's Tracy Elmblad Honored as a Finalist for 2019 Chicago CIO of the Year Awards
The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Chief Information & Operations Officer Tracy Elmblad was recently honored as a Finalist for the 2019 Chicago CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards. Finalists were named in five company categories, with Elmblad among four CIO finalists named in the Corporate category. Winners and finalists were recognized at an award ceremony on May 17, 2019.
Instituted by The Chicago CIO Leadership Association, the ORBIE awards honor chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Nominated CIOs and those in equivalent positions are evaluated on innovation, leadership, business value creation and community involvement.
In a Crain's Chicago Business profile of the CIO Award finalists, Elmblad spoke about the importance of developing an "incredibly talented and deeply skilled" information technology team.
"[Our team is] responsible for successfully balancing between operational excellence, continuous technology-enabled transformation, innovation and security," said Elmblad. "They engineer solutions that drive value, help us remain competitive and serve the needs of our clients and the firm. They have allowed me to execute on extensive IT change which helped reduce risk, create value, align technology with firm objectives and develop a culture of continuous improvement and change acceptance."
In a video profile of the finalists, Elmblad emphasized the importance for new CIOs of finding a mentor and establishing a professional network: "[Mentoring and networking] is a great way to move up through your career."
