The Walsh Family Inducted Into the Irish American Hall of Fame
The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that the family of Hinshaw partner Matthew P. Walsh II is scheduled to be inducted into the Irish American Hall of Fame. The 2023 Hall of Fame Class will be inducted in a reception on April 29, 2023.
The Irish American Hall of Fame (IAHOA) is operated by the Irish American Heritage Center and seeks to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of Irish Americans to society, along with those who have shaped Irish American identity in the United States. The Walsh family join many other notable Irish Americans to receive IAHOA recognition, including John Kennedy, John McCain, Joseph Biden, Henry Ford, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Daniel Rooney, John McDonough, Anne Sullivan, Richard J. Daley, Gene Kelly, Bill Murray, Maureen O’Hara, Conan O’Brien, and many others.
In recognizing the Walsh family, the IAHOA describes how one branch of the Walsh family went on to become leaders in architecture and construction in the City of Chicago and around the country, while the other Walshes went on to conquer the legal field as prominent attorneys for well-known law firms in Chicago. It notes how Hinshaw partner Matthew Walsh II followed his father Matthew P. Walsh, Sr. (Matt the Elder) into the legal profession, served as President of the Celtic Legal Society of Chicago, and attended Ireland’s State Dinner at the White House as the guest of then Taoiseach Enda Kenny in 2017.
