Stuart Walker

Stuart Walker represents clients in insurance-related matters involving commercial general liability, excess, umbrella, and first-party property. He leverages his federal court experience to guide clients through all phases of the litigation process in civil matters prosecuted in federal court, including dispositive motions. Stuart also counsels his clients on all aspects of claims handling.

Prior to joining Hinshaw, Stuart clerked for the Honorable Harold A. Baker and Chief Judge Sara Darrow in the U.S. District Court in the Central District of Illinois. He worked on Section 1983 civil rights cases through all phases of litigation, including trial. As a clerk, Stuart assisted with two trials.

While in law school, Stuart served as an editor and writer for the Illinois Business Law Journal and served as president of the Privacy and Security Law Society. Stuart also interned at Aon in Chicago, worked for a law firm in central Illinois, and served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael M. Mihm in the Central District of Illinois.

Prior to law school, Stuart provided quality assurance and compliance oversight to health insurance plans and was an insurance agent licensed to sell accident and health plans in more than 30 states.

Stuart has a wide range of interests and hobbies. He enjoys writing Star Wars fan fiction, playing guitar, and learning new things when he has the time. Stuart also has experience with krav maga, drawing, painting, singing, drumming, and sword fighting. Stuart walks, runs, rows, or lifts heavy things to keep physically fit. He loves sailboats and welcomes anyone to email him an invitation to sail on their sailboat.
