Taylor Hennington focuses her practice on issues facing the financial services sector, including litigated matters and regulatory and compliance counseling. She represents financial services providers against individual and class claims pursuant to Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). She also represents mortgage lenders in complaints alleging wrongful foreclosures and debt collection statutes. Taylor partners with her clients from a case’s inception to its resolution to provide tailored litigation, settlement strategies, and solutions.

Before joining Hinshaw, Taylor was a consumer financial services, data and technology associate at an AmLaw 100 firm. She also served as a briefing attorney to Chief Justice Robert D. Burns, III, and visiting justices at the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals.

During law school, Taylor was involved in several activities and associations, including law review, law journal, and moot court. She served as treasurer for the Black Law Students Association and Board of Advocates. She was a legal research and writing teaching fellow and a student representative for the Office of Career and Professional Development.

Mortgage Servicing/Trade Secrets

  • Represented a mortgage servicer in trade secrets litigation and arbitration against a former employee and their new employer, resulting in a favorable settlement for the servicer.
