Emily Smith assists clients in navigating complex labor and employment law matters, including workplace discrimination, wage and hour compliance, and employee relations. Emily also represents employers in employment litigation, providing counsel based on claims under state and federal statutes, including:
- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
- Wisconsin Fair Employment Act (WFEA)
- Wisconsin Family and Medical Leave Act (WFMLA)
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA)
Prior to joining Hinshaw as an attorney, Emily gained experience at the firm as a summer associate and law clerk. She also served on the Executive Board of the Marquette Law Review as an articles editor and participated in the Moot Court Association.
