John McPherson focuses his practice primarily in insurance regulation and general business and corporate transaction law. Mr. McPherson regularly drafts all necessary documents and represents insurers before the California Department of Insurance in connection with mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance transactions, spin-offs of existing operations, agent and broker licensing, rewrite/renewal rights agreements, insurance company formations, capitalizations and reorganization projects. In addition, Mr. McPherson structures and provides regulatory counsel on a nationwide basis in connection with automobile extended service contract programs. He regularly reviews and drafts a broad range of business documents, including employment and independent contractor agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, limited liability company management agreements and shareholder buy/sell agreements.
Professional Background
Mr. McPherson joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in October 2014 as a result of the merger of Hinshaw and the Los Angeles-based firm of Barger & Wolen LLP, where he had been practicing since 1987.
