Joseph Lafuente represents financial institutions and mortgage servicers in various complex consumer financial services and commercial litigation matters. He defends against claims under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
While attending law school, Joseph gained experience as a law clerk at Hinshaw. He also interned with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, assisting the bankruptcy unit by reviewing plans and statements to ensure fair representation for investors.
