Matt Knox is a seasoned commercial litigator who represents businesses and creditors in a wide variety of commercial litigation and consumer financial services litigation. He defends national and state banks, mortgage loan servicers and investors, automobile finance companies, credit card companies, and other providers of consumer financial services against a variety of claims, including under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Texas Debt Collection Act (TDCA).

Matt advocates for his clients with a business-focused approach. As a former in-house counsel at a national bank, he draws on that experience to negotiate practical solutions with an eye on cost-benefit and risk.

Matt also has extensive bankruptcy experience representing Chapter 7 trustees, creditors in Chapter 11 proceedings, and debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases, including motions to lift the automatic stay, motions to sell estate property, and objections to discharge.

Beyond trial defense, Matt has substantial appellate experience, having drafted appellate briefs and argued in state and federal appellate courts.
