Liam McGing defends clients on both federal and state legal issues across the country, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Florida Telephone Solicitation Act (FTSA), Illinois Genetic Information Privacy Act (GIPA), California Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA), Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and sanctions imposed by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as well as other common law and statutory claims.
Before joining Hinshaw, Liam practiced as a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney, having tried more than 20 bench trials.
While a law student, Liam clerked in the Northern District of Illinois for the Honorable Judge Jorge Alonso and the Honorable Judge John Robert Blakey, honing his legal acumen. Liam was also a legal extern at the Department of Justice, where he worked with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), dealing with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
